A New Year for a Carolina Princess

The time past really fast for Elizabeth after the Saint Patricks Day parade.  She attended the State Pageant with Tahler and they had a lot of fun.  The Miss America Organization is a great place for girls to grow and become young women.  I recommend this program to everyone that is out there with you girls.  It build confidence and poise better than anything else.  I feel one of the best parts of the program is that the girls have to promote a community service platform.  It is amazing what happens when you see your child passionate about something that can get the community involved.  Elizabeth has turned 13 recently and is now beginning to compete in the Outstanding Teen pageants.  It shows that the princess program is successful when you see a young girl want to do what her mentor did and accomplish the win on her own.  I am so proud of where she is now and excited about what her future holds!!!

Military Missions In Action "MMIA"

April 2, 2011
Elizabeth travel to Fuquay Varina to help Mary Catherine and Tahler pack boxes for MMIA.  MMIA was founded by Mike Dorman (http://www.militarymissionsinaction.org/index.html) it is an organization that helps disable veterans.  The girls had a blast helping this incredible organization and their volunteers package over a ton of supplies to be mailed to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Pinehurst ST Paddy's Parade and Spivey's Corner Pageant

March 19, 2011.  The girls were able to ride in the St Paddy's parade in Pinehurst.  What a busy day today was.  Elizabeth started her Saturday by playing the first half of her soccer game.  This was an extremely rough game with Elizabeth spending most of it being fouled by the other team.  Well half time came in the game and we had to rush to Pinehurst to get in line for the parade.  The girls all wore green dresses and what a sight they were.  Beautiful girls they truly are.  Leith McBrayer loaned Mary Catherine a car while I drove Tahler and Elizabeth in our mustang.  There were a ton of people lining the streets of Pinehurst.

After the parade we were able to get a bite to eat and have a nice visit with Paul the Business Manager of Coastal Carolina and Tahlers family.  We then preceeded to go home and prepare for our drive to Spivey's Corner and attend the pageant there.  We all arrived saftely and at different times but sat with the whole group.  Tahler was preforming a clogging routine as a speical entertainment, which of course she was outstanding.  The pageant was long with alot of extra entertainment but over all a nice evening.

Miss Capital City Pageant... March 12, 2011

We had a couple of weeks off which was a real blessing because this mom was really tired.  But we are back at it and this time we headed north to Garner to see who was going to be crown the new Miss Capital City.  I must say it was a really nice pageant and the pageant committee is wonderful. KUDDOS.  The pageant was very glamorous and fun.  We attended the pageant this week without Miss Tahler she was at the beach with her youth group.  She has a great time but we truely missed her.  However the very gracious Mary Catherine took Elizabeth under her wing this evening.  She was blessed with having two princesses with her on stage...what  a lucky lady she was.  little miss Morgan was fabulous and cute and Mary Catherine really tried to get her to say her name but of course her cute little self wouldnt..  Elizabeth is doing a fabulous job at representing the Miss Coastal Carolina pageant committee and making this mom very proud.  She did have a silly moment when the mic wouldn't go back into the stand but the next Miss that was getting ready to introduce herself stepped right in and took the mic as if it was no big deal.... which by the way it wasn't.

February 26, 2011

The girls attended the Wilmington Pageant tonight.  What a great pageant it was.  They had such a fabulous time hanging with each other.  We headed down to Wilmington around 4pm and arrived with enough time to get a quick bite to eat at TGI Fridays.  Of course we had to rush so that we could get to the pageant and visit with the other members of the audience.  Mary Catherine arrived a little after us and the three girls sat with each other.  The pageant was long but ended up with two new Queens.  After the pageant the girls visited with there friend Hillary, who was a contestant in the pageant.  Hilllary is such a fabulous girl. She is beautiful inside and out.  We headed home after dropping Mary Catherine off at home.  After a very long drive home (pulled in at 2 am) UGGG, we spent Sunday recovery.  Thank you Joei for driving!  It wonderful having great girl friends...Elizabeth is a trooper.  She is loving this.  Mom is super tired though!
